I love this time of the year. The feeling I get is like no other holiday. I see all of the children running, playing and enjoying the Christmas decorations with little hearts anticipating that big day when they crawl out of bed to presents under the tree. They can’t wait for Thanksgiving to go away to get to the real reason that joy is bursting from their little hearts. Old Town is beautiful as usual here in Rock Hill, SC. The trees are all sprinkled with minature white light and the buildings are outlined with a glowing light to illuminate the night.Up the street children and adults, black and white are ice skating. That is a beautiful sight to see as the weather is nice and mild under a starry sky. Its almost like a Hallmark Christmas card that I can actually touch, and I’m wearing shorts!

I chose here because it is the south end of Charlotte and near so many things that I like, such as the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. If you didn’t know, now you do, I love ballet. I will be in attendance for The Nutcracker this December. The city has grown so fast just since I’ve moved here.
So, with Christmas right around the corner, I look around Old Town and see the beauty yet to be discovered by outsiders and rejoice in knowing that I’ve found a special place. As we give thanks and
